DonRocks
I have four wooden wine racks which hold 63 individual bottles each (7 rows, 9 bottles per row). They measure about 32" wide by 34" high, and look a lot like these (yes, these are $260 each). I'm sure I could sell them on Craigslist, but I'd rather give them away to our members. If anyone wants them, they can have them (you'd just need to come by and pick them up). You don't have to take all four.

FREE! ... to our members. Here's the rule: whoever says they want them by next Friday, March 14th, at 12 noon, gets them. You can take 1, or you can take all 4. You have to come to EFC Metro area and pick them up (there's no rush to pick them up, but sooner is better than later). If there's more than one person who wants them, the tie-breaking rule is: whoever has the most posts, gets them. First-come, first-served is just too unfair. So, chime in by next Wednesday at noon (that gives you four days). There's more than enough here for one person - just one of these would be perfect for apartment-dwelling, dining-room, quick-access, five-case storage. My hope is that four of you will want one storage rack each - that would be perfect, and my way of repaying you for being active members here, but if one person wants all four, that's fine, too. My requirement is that you promise to use them, and not resell them. Please post here, and don't PM or email. Cheers, Rocks

DonRocks
It's a given now that they'll all be taken. Now, it's a matter of whether or not our heavy posters want to share the love. Listen, I also have some older-model diamonds that go for $210 each new - these are anything but new; in fact, they're quite old, and in spots may need reenforcing or even refinishing to make them look nicer. Here's the post with a picture of these diamond-shaped models. It matters not to me which of these you take. I have 2-3 of the diamond shaped ones that I'm willing to part with (say 2 to be safe). These are the racks that I've chosen to use over the years, and are by no means inferior; just different. So think about which type you want: the single-bottle straight-line racks are newer and in better condition; the diamond-shaped, multi-case racks hold almost 100 bottles per rack (50% more storage). I reiterate: you should only take the diamond racks if you're prepared to reinforce a couple joints with this-shape reinforcement (which could be wood, metal, etc.) and that you can find in any hardware store for cheap. If you want to make the racks look like new (and you certainly can), put in a couple reinforcements, and refinish them (they slide apart very easily), so it's like refinishing a flat piece of wood. Then, they slide back together just as easily. They have served me very well over the years. My MIL even painted one bright-yellow on a whim, and used it in Matt's bedroom as a bookshelf when he was a baby (she should win some type of award for creativity and frugality - she can make anything out of nothing). One thing I could use in return, however, is sturdy, flat, wine cases - the type where the wines lie on their side. in a low, flat rectangle. If you woudn't mind stopping by a Total Beverage on your way here and picking me up a few of each, it would be much appreciated. Newness, shape, capacity, and strength are the three factors I'm looking for here. The ideal cases would be empty Bordeaux boxes holding 12 bottles of wine each (this would be perfect IF it had the wooden dividers and had two rows of six-bottles each) - that is the shape I'm looking for (not this type of box where the corks point upward towards the ceiling); flat cardboard cases shaped like Bordeaux boxes with 2 rows of 6 bottles each, with a molded cardboard divider in between the rows, where the wines lie down sideways are fine (for the life of me, I cannot fine one single picture of any of them on the internet, but they're extremely common, and you can get these for free at any Total Beverage). I don't need a lot of these; just a few. With these, the key is "how strong is the cardboard" ... I want good, strong ones. Don't spend any money on the wooden cases if you don't already own them; strong cardboard ones will be just fine: 2 rows, 6 bottles each row. And if you can't get them, don't worry about it - that doesn't preclude you from taking these bulk-storage units.
DonRocks
B.A.R. you've got dibs. PM me, and I'll contact Rovers2000, JoshNE, and mlwindc afterwards. I feel sort of guilty using this system, but I guess it was as fair as any - I'm hoping everyone can get some.
