deangold
Frank Cornelisson wine dinner December 12, 2014. Mr Cornelisson owns old vines sites on Mt Etna in Sicily. There is no more iconoclastic or polarizing winemaker than Mr Cornelisson. I htink it safe to say that his wines are made with no chemical intervention of any kind and only physical manipulation in the vineyards or winemaking. Some find his wines bizarre beyond belief, I find them wonderful beyond belief. There is simply no frame of reference for them. He will be at Dino and we are having a wine dinner in the early part of the evening featuring 8 wines and a 6 course tasting menu for $145. Later on, we will have a supper featuring 5 wines and 3 courses for $99. Very limited seating. Reservation by ticket only Details Menu and Ticketing

DonRocks
If you go to this dinner, with proper equipment (glasses, pencil, paper, books or maps you can write in), and if this dinner is presented correctly, you should be able to acquire a tremendous amount of knowledge if you go home and do your homework afterwards. Drinking and studying before, during, and afterwards is THE BEST way to learn about wines, and it's how we all did it. Bone up on this producer before you go - as much as you possibly can. Don't go to be entertained; go to be enlightened and educated.
deangold
Last Night's Frank Cornelissen Wine Dinner was one of the wine highlights of my life! An evening with a wonderfully nice & gentle wine visionary: Frank Cornelissen and his singular wines. We will do it again next year.....An amazing array of wines from a master of natural winemaking:Exotic co~fermented blends {Sucuru Rose/Orange ~ Bianco ~ Contadino light reds} A study in Nerello Mascalese {Munjabel ~ 3xMunjabel Single vineyards ~ Magma} And the food {cheese palte not documented, I was too drunk by then!} ** Cuttle FIsh & Octopus ~ ++ Highbourne Farms Venison Tartaro w/black truffle ~ ** Slow Cooked Pork Shoulder (papa weaver) ~ ** Swordfish Sicilian Flavors on rigatoni ~ ++ House Cured Duck Breast & Matsutake Mushroom Crostini **=on tonight's menu ++ = on New Year's Eve Menu A few of the pics may be a little shaky as the night wore on, I certainly wasn't spitting and Frank was very concerned that my glass was never empty. What a night!
