Wednesday group drinks/food, near Holiday Inn Georgetown

So, the hotel isn't what people normally think of Georgetown (i.e., it's not on/near M St) - the address is 2101 Wisconsin.

A friend is in from out of town, and a small group (5-6) wants to get together for drinks and food, but not necessarily dinner - could just be snacks or bar food. Strongly prefer something within a 10 minute walk of the hotel.

My first two instincts were Old Europe and Bistrot Lepic - the hotel is literally halfway in-between each, only about a 5 minute walk. But both places feature live music on Wednesdays, so guessing they might not be the best place to talk.

Other ideas?

It's been awhile since I've been there, but the Glover Park outpost of Bourbon might work - their upstairs usually has a pretty sparse crowd (and they have a big table up there that could handle the group).  The food isn't going to blow you away but they usually have some interesting craft beers as well as a large bourbon menu.

I think they actually are no longer under the same "umbrella" organization as the Adams Morgan branch (which I think was sold to their bar manager).

I did validate that their twitter feed was still active (promoting their Kentucky Derby events) as of about 20 hours ago and I've seen people in there as I've driven down Wisconsin as recently as a few weeks back.  It appears that the web presence stayed with the AM location when they split, but the GP locations Facebook is active and may have a recent menu.

I have a very soft spot for Lepic though, in full disclosure, haven't been in more than three years. When I moved to DC a bunch of years ago, well before we were anything resembling a serious restaurant town, a former colleague of mine told me his Uncle (career CIA) loved the place and thought it one of the best in the city. At that time, maybe it would have even been on Don or Joe H's top 10 list. Anyway, I appreciated that recc and earned some points taking some friends and my +1 there semi-frequently until just too many oer places eclipsed it.

Also in the area and fully respectable and even interesting is Cafe Divan, still one of the few Turkish places in town.

Where do they have the music at Lepic? In the main dining room or upstairs? (The upstairs would seem to fit your needs, unless that's where they have the music)

From their website: "Come to our live music sessions on Monday & Wednesday night at the Wine Bar. The show starts from 7pm till 10 pm."
