jandres374
Well, looks like I dropped the ball (work, kids, etc.) in making dinner reservations for our anniversary, which is actually today (11/6) but unable to do dinner tonight. Looking for someplace that we can walk into tomorrow night probably around 8 and somewhere not to far from Bethesda. We don't mind sitting at the bar as long as we don;t have a bunch of people hovering over us. Wife is not a big fan of Italian food. Drawing a blank right now. How is the bar area at Rasika-West End? weezy
Why not Grapeseed?
Bart
Grapeseed? I've never been there so I don't know about the bar area, and maybe you've been there too much since you live in the area! I'm not sure if you can eat at the actual bar at Raskia West End or just the little tables they have in that area. There are maybe 10 small (and low) tables for 2 in the front of the place. I don't know how they work though. The only time I was there it was very close to opening time and a bunch of those tables were taken by people drinking cocktails. I didn't notice when I left if they were eating food there.
Tweaked
I don't think the bar area at Rasika West End is that great. In my experience it usually feels like a holding pen for people waiting for their tables with people milling around. I think you would definitely feel like people are hovering. DanielK
Yeah, why leave Bethesda? Grapeseed, or since I see that Indian is under consideration, go to Passage to India. You're much more likely to get a walk-in there at 8p on a Saturday night than one of the hip places in DC, and I will point out that both of them currently have availability on OpenTable. jandres374
Great suggestions. We ended up at Passage to India and it was excellent as usual.
DonRocks
Great suggestions. We ended up at Passage to India and it was excellent as usual. I think a lot of people don't notice that Passage to India is the only Bethesda restaurant I have rated over Grapeseed - it has been consistently wonderful for many, many years. Most importantly, I'm glad you enjoyed your anniversary dinner!
