It seems like every time I read something about peppers, a different pepper is mentioned as the World's Hottest. The Carolina Reaper? Never heard of it. Read about the Organoleptic Test and Mr. Scoville himself on Wikipedia. Evidently he was a pharmacist who wrote a book about compounding in 1895 and it was still used as a reference in the 60's. Keep warm! Scott Roberts is a chili-head blogger who attempted pure capsaicin drops (16,000,000 Scoville units) ... once.
