  1. Went to Clarity this weekend with some friends. Enjoyed a great dinner, started with some Lamb and Mussels appetizers, and then main course of Scallops, Beef Shortribs and Rockfish. We each also had a cocktail - everything was excellent & all very moderately priced for such a wonderful restaurant. We have paid much more for same quality in DC. Highly recommend if you are interested in dinner in Vienna.
  2. Best coffee shop I have been to in Northern Virginia - its not even close. Atmosphere & coffee are superb.....highly recommend when you are on the W&OD trail and in need of a rest stop.
  3. Had a fantastic anniversary dinner about a month ago with my spouse. We could not believe how moderately priced dinner was for such an outstanding restaurant - we have paid much more for less of a meal. We started the evening with Tuna TarTare - not an exaggeration to say this is the best Tuna dish we have ever had....a main Entree in itself and probably the best dish we ate all evening. We also had Beef Tartare - not as good, but still decent. We then moved onto house made Ravioli and Ribs for Entrees - both very well made. We finished with their Chocolate & Mango Dessert. Overall a wonderful evening and a great value, which compares well to some of the higher end establishments in Washington DC. We definitely plan on going back with friends.
  4. Will be going to Proof in DC for dinner....any recommendations for drinks after dinner - special date night - so looking for something a bit upscale. Thanks....
  5. Planning on going to Proof for Birthday dinner later on this month...anything recommendations or pointers people have who have eaten here. I am going based on recommendation from a regular user to this site.
  6. Never been to Casa Luca, however, these are the one's that I would recommend for a special night out: - Mintwood Place - Rose's Luxury - Little Serrow - Blue Duck Tavern These are the four best in DC right now - from what I have tried...will be heading to Proof soon.

Kiko is one of the finest dogs I have ever seen....you should be proud
  8. L'Auberge Chez Francois....totally overrated...one of the worst "fine" dining experiences that my wife & I have ever had. Not worth the time, money & effort to get to this place. Its very stuffy & has a feeling of being frozen in 1985 - plus the food was just average - not worth the $200.00 we spent. I have heard from friends that there is a smaller bistro that serves some good food - but have not tried it myself. I cannot understand why this place gets rave reviews - definitely would never visit this place again.
  9. Went for Mother's day dinner - decor is quite nice, but food is average. Overall, I recommend if you are in the area, but not worth driving across town for. The biggest issue was the Tandoori Platter was undercooked - the chicken was still raw - I would not go out of my way for this place. Not highly recommended
  10. Went to Rose's Luxury for first time 2 weekends ago, it was one of the 2 best meals I have had in DC (the other being Blue Duck Tavern). Everything was excellent from the food to the service. It is well worth the wait to stand in line (4 hours from time we got into line to the time we were seated - Weather was great so that might be the cause for the long wait). To start with we had the famous Pork sausage, Habanero & Lychee Salad - it was excellent. We also had the Grilled Avacado with Tomatillo, Poblano & Cotua Cheese & Smoked Trout Mousse - very good - but nothing compared to the previous Pork Sausage. For Dinner we shared the Smoked Brisket - the best brisket I have ever had - not much of a Brisket fan but this was amazing. Overall, a truly memorable night - well worth the wait in line.
  11. Heading to Mintwood Place this week, any recommendations that people on this forum have for dining here?
  12. Mediocre food...poor service....equals expensive meal. Very disappointed with this place...Tuscarora Mill is much better in Leesburg. My dinner had no taste...my wife's steak was not cooked the way she wanted....never going back there again.
  13. Went for lunch and it was excellent!!! Started off with the Tum Marg Huong/Papaya Salad, which was spicy.....then came Ping Moo/Grilled Pork and Orm Chicken. Both dishes were wonderful, much more flavorful than usual Thai restaurants. They were accompanied with Stick Rice - a great meal for excellent price. I highly recommend for a cheap eat in Falls Church.
  14. Wife & I had dinner Saturday night at Tuscarora Mill, we were both very happy with our meals. The restaurant was packed and quite busy (and a bit noisy). We started out with their salad special, which was excellent - loaded with roasted pecans. Then I had their lamb special, while my wife had their trout. Both were wonderful main dishes. We finished with their butterscotch bread pudding - decadent but tasted great. Overall, another wonderful meal at one of the finest restaurants in the outer Virginia suburbs.
