Birthday Dinner for 4 in Leesburg or Ashburn - Not AhSo or Aggio

Spurred by my failure to obtain reservations for a birthday dinner for 4 during "prime time" in DC (despite starting my search two weeks out), as well as a desire to stay closer to the homestead and avoid a 45 minute drive, I've decided to narrow my search to the Leesburg/Ashburn area. I've been to AhSho and Aggio several times, so I'm looking for a new spot. Does anyone have recent experience with Casa Nostra, Lightfoot, or possibly French Hound Brasserie? I'm looking forward to sage advice from a group I trust. Thanks! -
Hi All-- I'd like to take my SO out for a special birthday dinner in a couple of weeks. Looking for suggestions. She's a vegetarian so we need options for her. I'm a carnivore so I hope to be happy too. Looking for something in the $150 range all in. Close to Fairfax would be swell, but I'm happy to take a spin into DC as well. Nothing dressy. On the quiet side. Decent wine list for her, but I don't drink. -
Contemplating a quick overnight trip to NYC to celebrate my birthday mid-January. I did this once before and enjoyed an amazing multi-course lunch at Le Berdardin and another great meal at Momofuku Ssam the following day. Specifically looking for a new place for dinner on a Saturday night, moderately priced (i.e. not Per Se or even Le Bernardin prices, but doesn't have to be cheap). Something with a focus on locally sourced food. Aside from that and price, not many constraints (although I'd probably prefer to not do Italian since I try not to eat much in the way of grains). Also would love suggestions for the rest of the trip. Maybe a quick, lighter bite on Saturday and a lunch place on Sunday or vice versa (also trying to work in a showing of Constellations, but haven't figured out the best schedule for all of this yet!). I'm taking a date out for a birthday meal in Manhattan in a few weeks. The parameters: -Not Asian (not my choice) -I'd prefer mains in the $20-$30 range, rather than $30-40 -Not super quiet and super romantic, but on the end of that scale, rather than bustling and noisy. So yup, pretty broad. I just have very little idea of what's going on in NYC these days. Thank you!
