The first time I saw LeBron James play was on the nationally televised high school game against Oak Hill Academy. Before the game, then-announcer Bill Walton came right out and said that James was 'the best high school player he had ever seen.' In that game, James scored 31, with 13 rebounds and 6 assists; yet, only went 12-25 from the field. There were moments of greatness, but the incredible pressure of national TV had clearly compromised his performance. No longer. "History! LeBron Nets 61, Heat Top Bobcats, 124-107" by Tim Reynolds on abcnews.com In a career-high scoring effort, James shot 22-33 from the field, including his first *eight* 3-point attempts. He scored 25 points in the 3rd quarter alone. James makes greatness look easy - he dominates without looking like he's dominating. Who do you go with right now, James or Durant? It's so nice having both to see, to witness. Career stats

It took all the strength I could muster to start a thread on Matthew Dellavedova, but I just found this: 01/18/16 - "Cavs' Matthew Dellavedova Voted NBA's Dirtiest Player in L.A. Times' Poll" by Ricky Doyle on nesn.com Anyone who thinks Dellavedova is "accidentally dirty," as one coach said in that article, didn't watch the game I saw.

Am I the only person who thinks this "small ball" nonsense has hurt the quality of play in the NBA? Give me a 7-foot center and a 6-10 power forward any day of the week. Fifteen minutes ago, there wasn't a single player on the court over 6'8". There's no question that with the advent of the deadly 3-point shooters, the game has been changed, but rebounds are still rebounds, and there's no reason you can't have both on the same team. I see championship NBA teams 10 years from now having guards like Stephen Curry *in addition to* centers like Patrick Ewing and power forwards like Tim Duncan (okay, maybe not all 3 of those people on the same team, but you know what I'm saying). As surely as 350-pound offensive lineman are different than 210-pound quarterbacks, so it shall be in the NBA. I also think that these are two of the worst teams ever to play in an NBA finals, superstars aside. Any other opinions?
