Just stopped by this place, think it might be rather new. Was drawn in by the Pinkberry-esque yogurt bar. Recently tried Pinkberry for the first time in LA, and after the first bite became addicted. Love their yogurt because of the vanilla tartness. It's almost like frozen Dannon vanilla yogurt, which I love. Alas, Sweetgreen's yogurt is missing that wonderful vanilla tartness - in fact, it tasted like nothing, just cold and smooth. Which is strange, because the flavor itself is called Plain Tart. The only thing tart about this yogurt was the flock of scantily clad coeds downing it . So, unless I ordered incorrectly, and in fact there are two yogurt flavors - Plain and Tart - I probably won't be heading out of my way for a fix. The idea is you get a small or medium, and have 3 or more mix-ins: fresh fruit or other sweet items. The fruit was okay - not California fresh but oh well. The other half of the small but pleasant space is a salad bar, which looked promising and not price-gauging like I'd expect in gtown. Seemed no more expensive than a Cosi salad, but with fresher looking and more inventive options. Anybody else been here yet? I still hope a Pinkberry comes to town soon - LA and NYC, we gotta be next! Sweetgreen 3333 M St., Georgtown eatsweetgreen.com

Apparently it is open. Co-worker tried the lasagna soup said it was decent. I looked at their website - they use no dairy, no butter, no oil and no salt. I might be convinced of the first three ingredients, but no salt?

I have not spent any time in restaurants for months due to my need to follow a meal plan for health and weight loss. In a couple of weeks I need to meet someone for lunch in DC prior to a 2:30 appointment at 18th & I, NW. I am looking for a restaurant (doesn't have to be in the immediate vicinity) where I can order a simply grilled/roasted fish fillet or chicken breast accompanied by some green vegetables that have not been drenched in butter. Some places I've thought of are: Ris, Westend Bistro and Woodward Table, all of which are pretty expensive. That's not a problem for me, but might be for my dining companion. Any thoughts?

After a visit to Greek Deli yesterday for the Wednesday meatball special (which I like even better than the Thursday meatloaf special), I was tempted to compensate by skipping lunch today. Instead, I made my first visit to litestars. My "Bison Tartlet" ($5.30), which is seasoned ground bison, onions, and tomatoes in a pastry-like crust, was actually pretty good. It was not that big, the crust tasted low-fat, and everything needed a little salt, but it was otherwise tasty, especially for something with a mere 290 calories. I will definitely go again, next time I'm looking for a lower calorie alternative and don't feel like a salad. More on the place can be found here in the City Paper's article.
