From the sounds of things, it seems that Little Sesame is a separate entity getting its start in DGS's lower-level, with a common co-owner in Nick Wiseman. Thus, it will also get its own thread. Congratulations to the whole team, Nick, Robin, and everyone else - please stay active here and let us know when you expand beyond lunch, get a beer and wine license, open another location, etc. All these pop-ups and restaurants within restaurant are parallel to recent college graduates living with mom and dad for a couple of years because they can't afford to pay rent (heck, I did it for a year - I think it's a great idea, and it can even bring the family closer together).

hm. I eat tons of hummus. Unfortunately I don't make too much...and when I do it hasn't been that great. But I buy enough Sabra to make up for a healthy amt of those 80 million that never even heard about it...let alone the others that know what it is but don't buy it.

A virtual food board "friend" from another venue (eGullet: "hassouni") is also a real life friend of someone we know well & eat with pretty often. He, real name Chris, opened "The Green Zone" in Adams Morgan not that long ago (2226 18th St NW). We went and had some great drinks and some truly good small plates. The falafel was a major standout & I know from falafels, having eaten them for 50+ years from places serving foods of Israel, Syria, Lebanon, Greece & Palestine. And the "F--K Trump Punch" made my evening (hey, that's its name... politics embedded and I can't do much about that, can I?). Its a loud, partying type of place with a crowd to match and I don't think that we're the target audience, but its a welcoming place & clearly already well loved. I recommend it and congratulate Chris on getting this venture off the ground. I wouldn't count on it, but do you know a hummus I had recently that is really good? At Me Jana, order the Lamb Shoulder in the Warm Mezza section - it's shredded lamb shoulder served over hummus, and it's wonderful. Doordash has it, if you don't want to go out.

Cremcafe, located in Rockville Town Center deserves a thread. This is an Israeli style cafe. I can't vouch for the coffee, although I am told it is really good (my 5 year old loves the hot chocolate). The food is really good. The hummus is homemade every day. It is bright and well seasoned, served with a bunch of pita for dipping. The burekas are made in house and are also very good. This is the extent of my dining there (no need to go any further once you try the burekas!). When I took my Israeli friend there, he couldn't believe he hadn't heard about it or been there previously. Come to think of it, I need to go more often.
