A new map of independent coffee houses in the greater DC area. There are now so many, I did not feel compelled to list every one I'm aware of. Some I've left off because I feel they just don't serve good product. Happy to take requests for additions, or editorial comments. Will add to the map as I learn of new places.

This link is an excellent resource for discussion of all of the myriad subgenres of metal. It is pretty fascinating and a good jumping off point for finding stuff you never knew existed. Find a few bands from the linked snippets and Spotify (or other streaming tool of your choice) and prepare to find 50 other bands. Some only have a single song you might like (and think the rest are crap), but you never know! One band, In Mourning, I like only one song from, but I love it. Colossus

Here's a link to a map of specialty food stores. As with the other maps, send suggestions of places to add. Small grocery stores okay, but mostly the focus is on independent shops where you'd go to find something unusual or extraordinary. I didn't include the big Asian markets as they fall into the grocery store category. If anyone wants to collaborate let me know and I'll add you to the collaborator list.
