Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and the County Council are investigating the county’s ability to force lower fees charged to restaurants by food delivery apps, such as Uber Eats, Grubhub, and DoorDash: https://www.sourceofthespring.com/montgomery-county/food-delivery-app-fees/

I just started two new forums: Colleges and High Schools, which are only visible to members (just for a little extra member-privacy). I'm hopeful that this will bring our membership closer together through common life experiences. We can even start a "Military Brat" thread for those of you who were shuttled around during your youth. I went to Springbrook, in Silver Spring, MD - yep, I'm a native Washingtonian. Any other Blue Devils here?

8 friends want to get together for dinner in a couple of weeks. Some from NW DC, some in Silver Spring. Looking for a place with good, moderately priced food, preferably in NW, Bethesda, SS, good ambiance where we can hang out for a while. Please save us from ending up at Maggiano's! On first pass I thought of Buck's but I am sure there are other great options I am forgetting.

Although it's likely not worth a trip across the river, I thought I'd let my MoCo comrades know that the 2nd annual Corktoberfest has been scheduled for October 22-23 at the Fairgrounds. Last year there were about a dozen and a half wineries along with half a dozen food trucks. There's also a small area for wine-related crafts and merchandise. We went last year and had a good time. So... Let's say that your only request when you and your spouse discussed Mother's Day several months ago was that you weren't the one who had to make the reservations and that we weren't deciding things at the last minute. And that today your spouse texted you to ask what you wanted to do and seemed to have no recollection of the previous conversation despite taking notes on his phone during said previous conversation. Is there anyplace I can go with the BL-3rd grader for a nice brunch on Mother Day? I just want some eggs florentine and not to have to pick up the phone to make the reservation--Bethesda, Rockville, North Potomac, etc. Money is no object as long as they take Amex. I have the spouse's Amex. (Yes, I'm bitter...)

Hi all, not sure if this is the right forum but I will give it a shot. I am very active in the movement to break Montgomery County's monopoly on the sale of beer, wine and spirits. Adam Pugnacco recently launched a petition in support of abolishing the monopoly. If you are like minded, especially if you live, work and/or vote in Montgomery County, could you sign the petition here https://www.change.org/p/karen-montgomery-senate-state-md-us-brian-feldman-senate-state-md-us-susan-lee-senate-state-md-us-cheryl-kagan-senate-state-md-us-richard-madaleno-senate-state-md-us-roger-manno-senate-state-m-end-the-monopoly-let-the-voters-decide?recruiter=416270842&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink, add your comments and share it on social media? Montgomery County May Ease Alcohol Rules (for Restaurants)
Pool Boy posted a topic in News and Media
Liquor stores in Montgomery County are county-owned, and restaurants are having a hard time getting hard-to-find liquor as a result. Perhaps a change is in the works.... Maybe?- 8 replies

I am going to see my SIL on NYD to eat Chinese food and go see Hunger Games. The problem is I have been reading all the Chinese threads for Rockville and all of the ones near the top of the dining guide have recent posts about going downhill. So where should we go? She is not the biggest fan of spicy or weird, but can find something on most menus.

Is anyone here familiar with restaurants in the King of Prussia vicinity? A friend recommended Sullivan's Steakhouse, however they don't serve lunch. I'm looking for a nice spot to have dinner at with my mother tomorrow. Must be near the shopping temple that is King of Prussia. Nothing fancy required. I'm just trying to avoid going w/o a plan lest we wind up at TGIFriday's.

Blackfish is nearby in Conshohocken, about a 10 minute drive from KOP. I haven't been, but heard good things about this little BYOB. It was all the rage in Philadelphia a few years ago, and it sounds like they're still pumping out good food.
