Restaurants with Great Service
bookluvingbabe posted a topic in Washington DC Restaurants and Dining
I'm not going to touch on the late unpleasantness but it got me thinking that very few places get that the food can be perfect but a single rotten apple of an employee does more damage than anything else. Rather than list the places that don't get it, I wanted to give a shout out to those that do. My first selection is Proof. In addition to amazing food, the service is friendly and engaged. The host staff and managers take their work seriously as well. Next is Dino. I experienced a ditzy server here and there at Dino but I also know that if I say something to Dean or Kay, that the training will be reviewed and it won't happen again. I have more to list but I have a small child rioting for breakfast... -
Do you pour your wine an extra special way, please tell.

Why do servers greet patrons as "you guys?" We are in our 60s, yet we are inevitably addressed as "you guys." Has my wife morphed into a guy? I don't think so. Is "guy" now gender neutral? Are women dining with women addressed as "you Guys"? Am I alone in finding this greeting off-putting? Does anyone know the origins of "you guys?" Thanks.
