We had a nice, late supper at A.O.C. back in May. Lots of nice small and medium size plates of Mediterranean dishes, good cheese and charcuterie and of course, wines. Picture a not-quite-as-Italian Sonoma with lower lighting and aspiring starlets at the table next to yours. -
Russ Parsons, Food Editor of the Los Angeles Times interviews Suzanne Goin, successful and highly regarded Los Angeles chef and restaurateur, in this fascinating one-hour video. Goin is intelligent, articulate and tells really funny stories about some of the many well-known restaurants she has worked in; she's also "easy on the eyes." She has great insight into male-female dynamics in restaurant kitchens, and talks about how she thinks about creating dishes. It makes it even more interesting if you have eaten at one or both her best-known restaurants, Luques and A.O.C., or are familiar with her cookbooks, _Sunday Suppers at Luques_ and _The A.O.C. Cookbook_ (they are two of my favorites of the hundreds that I own), but isn't essential. click
