We had a nice, late supper at A.O.C. back in May. Lots of nice small and medium size plates of Mediterranean dishes, good cheese and charcuterie and of course, wines. Picture a not-quite-as-Italian Sonoma with lower lighting and aspiring starlets at the table next to yours.

Russ Parsons, Food Editor of the Los Angeles Times interviews Suzanne Goin, successful and highly regarded Los Angeles chef and restaurateur, in this fascinating one-hour video. Goin is intelligent, articulate and tells really funny stories about some of the many well-known restaurants she has worked in; she's also "easy on the eyes." She has great insight into male-female dynamics in restaurant kitchens, and talks about how she thinks about creating dishes. It makes it even more interesting if you have eaten at one or both her best-known restaurants, Luques and A.O.C., or are familiar with her cookbooks, _Sunday Suppers at Luques_ and _The A.O.C. Cookbook_ (they are two of my favorites of the hundreds that I own), but isn't essential. click
