This is an arcane piece of trivia - I'm pretty sure this was essentially unknown, but I spent about twenty minutes researching it. Arlene Martel was a fairly prolific TV actress in the 60s and 70s, and best known for being Spock's would-be wife, T'Pring, in the original Star Trek episode, "Amok Time." She was also one of the singers in the Mean Joe Greene Coca-Cola ad, "Hey Kid, Catch!" 😯

iPhone users, follow these steps to create a Bronx Dining Guide quasi-app (although right now, the Guide is, erm, "sparsely populated"):1) Enter the URL of the next post (the actual Dining Guide), and bring it up on your iPhone - you can get the URL by clicking on the very-faint icon that looks like a "less-than sign (<)" at the top-right of any given post. 2) Tap the plus sign (+) on the bottom of your iPhone screen.3) Push "Add Bookmark."Voila! Your own free quasi-app in less than 30 seconds!

I remember you were the first person to say this, and then I started noticing what a blowhard he is - it got real old, real fast. The thing is, I agree with much of what Stephen Smith says, and I enjoy his content, but I'm just getting tired of him SCREAMING IN MY EAR !!!

Calabria Pork Store on Arthur Avenue in The Bronx...Haven't been, just tasted their product. The step-father of the gf was kind enought to bring me back a whole sweet sopprassata (at least that is what he told me it was). Whatever it is, it is damn good, some of the best cured meat I've had. The thing looks like a mutant sweet potato! My photo: Photo swiped from Yelp (wouldn't normally do this but you must see to believe!):
