Renting a car to drive to Thanksgiving festivities again this year. I am not leaving until tomorrow afternoon but am picking up the rental car today. My boyfriend and I are thinking that if the weather lets up and it stops raining (I'm a California girl so driving a rental car in inclement weather is not going to turn out well), we should venture out to Rockville or somewhere in the suburbs for Chinese food. We went to Sichuan Jin River last year, which lead to my first ever donrockwell.com post! We have narrowed our choices down to: China Bistro Bob's Noodle Bob's Shanghai Joe's Noodle House We are also open to other suggestions. Anyone out there with some advice? What I really want are dumplings and noodles. Thanks!

I recently got our of the hospital after having major surgery. My diet is restricted a little bit to low fiber foods. Today is my birthday, and would like to have a simple dish of pasta with a nice lobster sauce with a decent amount of lobster meat. So often, when you order this dish, you wind up with not much more than a picture of the lobster. I live in Vienna, but am looking anywhere in northern Virginia. Anybody have any suggestions? I don't really care about the price (I'm celebrating). If I can't find this, I'll probably just get a full lobster at Legal. They're good there, but I would like to dress up the dish a little.

Not really purple, but it does sound interesting doesn't it? We are a country farmhouse style restaurant in Loudoun county, Virginia (Purcellville to be exact - 20132) and have our first bartender turnover due to promotion. If you're into local fare, reasonably sized plates, fantastic wines and beers and like to share your personality, this should be your next best move. Uniform is fairly casual - no neckties here, staff is amazing and the food is ridiculously good. We're looking for someone who wants to work part time to full time and earn a good paycheck. No mavericks here so if you're looking to be Top Gun in your next job this is not for you - this is truly a team environment and if that's your thing, you're going to love working with us. Crooked Run Brewing 205 Harrison Street SE Leesburg, VA 20175 571-918-4446 http://www.crookedrunbrewing.com Couldn't find a listing for this one with a search. I think they said they were celebrating their 1st or 2nd anniversary. During a quick visit and picked up a growler of their Summer Night. Had it later that night, enjoyed the nice malty raspberry taste.

We stopped by and checked it out. The owner said his fish comes 3 times a week from the Mediterranean. The branzino, orate and red snapper looked quite fresh. Can't wait to try it out this weekend for some grilling.
