Cake Wrecks

I've been a big fan of Cake Wrecks for a long time. The first day I stumbled upon it at work, not only could I not stop reading, I could not stop laughing -- laughing so hard that tears were running down my face as I shook in silence, trying not to alert my coworkers to my egregious shirking of actual work duties in favor of reading (and viewing) hilariously, horribly-messed-up confections.

Although I admit that "Sunday Sweets" (cakes gone very right) is my favorite feature, particularly when Jen Yates, the blogger, features geekapalooza awesomeness (in the not-too-distant past: Star Wars, Star Trek, and Doctor Who -- woohoo!).

I'm sure she's getting some new visitors because the site got a big write-up in the New York Times today because the book is coming out. Blog-->book-->news site seems to be the path of least resistance these days, doesn't it? The article isn't terribly noteworthy, although it does give Jen a platform to state that she (and her submitters) do know that there's often a good reason for the mistakes...but that doesn't make them any less funny.

If you need a laugh -- or want to see some absolutely amazing artistry in the Sunday Sweets sections -- check it out.
