If you can spare the $125, it'll be a heck of an event. Auction, also. And TWG wines, amongst other fine providers (and we're pouring the good stuff!)
Tonight, National Building Museum, 7-10PM.

The theme for tonight's tasting is Southern, so prepare yourself for Cajun delicacies, BBQ and something with grits in it!
Hope to see you all there!

if you wouldn't use a cell phone in church, then why would you in a restaurant?

Shrimp and grits as far as the eye could see!!Anybody with the postmortem? I've always been curious to know if these things are worth the financial outlay...
Beau and I were there (saw MelGold!!
It was definitely worth the price, particularly due to the charity supported, but the restaurants really worked hard to present excellent and flavorful dishes that offer something for everyone. I would go to another event like this again anytime.

We were situated conveniently between jparrot's "The Wild Grape" offerings and Andy Husbands from Boston who was serving a lacquered duck breast with cajun ragout & rosemary biscuits. Oceanaire's BBQ shrimp were exceptional, and Thrasher was looking especially stunning a few stations away in his Jose Andres tribute jacket & apron! Needless to say, I didn't end up skipping dinner (dessert or an after-dinner aperitif).
All in all: Great food, great personalities and a great cause...I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Kudos also to the organizers, who had plenty of people available to help unload and facilitate. I'll keep doing SOS events just for that!
Thanks! I'm one of the organizers. And thanks to everyone who partipated! Through this event and a national Dine around Share Our Strength has raised over 800 thousand dollars for hurricane relief. To learn more visit http://www.strength....icane/index.php
