Restaurants with WiFi

Recommended Posts

Sonoma has free WiFi. I saw it mentioned on the sign they had up in the window advertising their new breakfast service. I don't know if it requires a password; nor do I know if it's available at all hours.

Daily Grill in Georgetown - the Georgetown Inn has wifi, no password needed. There was also a wifi password protected signal called Daily Grill.

Morton's in Georgetown - password may be needed. Using the signal called AT&T, a Mortons password screen came up on my ipod touch, but the password screen didn't pop up on my mini ipad, and I connected without a password.

Thanks for all your work on this, cheezepowder! As Don already knows, I hate eating alone and need entertainment on those rare occasions.

Of course, I just got put on a bland diet pending further investigation, so I won't be going out soon anyway. I cheat on that though.

Golden Triangle:

Pret (19th &L) needs p/w and I think it is printed on the receipt. Also pulls wifi from Corner Bakery next door so if one won't connect the other will.

Corner Bakery (19th & L) no p/w, just need to "accept" terms

Taylor Gourmet- needs p/w-I think it is printed on the receipt

FrozenYo (19th & M) -uses AT&T wifi from the McD's next door

That's all I can think of at the moment...

You must not read the Where Did I Dine? thread. :D My slightly blurry photo of their oxtail gravy, lemon biscuits, and poached eggs dish is here. It wasn't oxtail sausage but plain oxtail (shards of meat accenting the rich gravy). The lemon flavor in the biscuits was an interesting twist. At first I thought it may be a mismatch, but I liked the bright lemon flavor contrasted against the creamy gravy.

(And, more on my wifi mission: I saw a wifi signal and asked if they offer wifi, but the answer was no.)

TNR Cafe in Arlington has WiFi.

(I'll post an updated wifi list in the next week)

Ping Pong Dim Sum in Chinatown has wifi, password needed.

From Tom Sietsema's 3 star review for Daikaya:

Unlike the go--go ramen space, the second floor encourages patrons to kick back and hang out. The big front window is dressed with a rusting steel screen that features an ancient Japanese symbol for the sea, a detail lost on the tech--savvy, laments Utagawa, who read the design as a big plug for (say it ain’t so!) WiFi service.

The design does look like alot of wifi signals. When I was at Daikaya Izakaya this weekend, I saw a wifi signal on my ipod touch and asked if they offer wifi. They do not.

I also saw a wifi signal at A&D and asked if they offer wifi. I was told they don't give out the password because the wifi gets overloaded (?slow? something like that) when too many people are on it.

More places:

Roti (F St near 13th) - free wifi sign in window, password needed.

Fat Shorty's (Clarendon) - the wifi signal is still called Rabbit (the former incarnation), password needed.

Spider Kelly's (Clarendon) - the most impressive amount of wifi I've seen with no password needed! They have multiple wifi signals to choose from. I'm even planning to go back early on a weekend (when I'm hoping it's quiet/no crowd) to enjoy a relaxing low key brunch with wifi.

BlackFinn Ameripub in Merrifield has WiFi. I'm not recommending that you go, but if you do, they have WiFi.

Tallula (and almost surely EatBar by extension) has WiFi.

Anytime someone notices a sign on a door, and remembers to post a simple, one-sentence note here, it will add up over time into quite a useful list. You can do a CTRL-F to Find whether or not it already exists (Tallula did not).

As with other threads, one-sentence posts (such as this one) will probably be deleted when the master list is updated so the thread isn't overpopulated. So don't spend too much time writing your post. Still, much appreciated and you're really pitching in to help.

There's a free wifi signal at Liberty Tavern - it's not called Liberty Tavern though. It has a more generic sounding name.

I haven't been able to get wifi at Eatbar when I've gone. I haven't tried on the Tallula side. I'll give it another try next time I go to Eatbar.

American Tap Room Clarendon has free wifi, no password.

The Caribou Coffee near Nando's on Dupont Circle has wifi - no password needed.

FWIW, the Subway immediately west of Alberto's has WiFi (password needed, but they'll happily give it to you). You can get the signal in Alberto's, but that won't help without a password.

Cross posting to help me keep track when updating the list:

Re: Breadline

I've had breakfast there a few times and it is always empty at 9:20 AM. I don't know that I like it any better than G Street but breadline has wi-fi and G Street doesn't.

Re: Bakehouse

....More seriously, they have all the essential requisites.  Quality coffee (more on that below), some complementary (actually more locomotive than caboose) food items, free & fast wifi, and a mix of seating types (counter, sofa, tables).  Just west of 14th on T, so close to metro, bus lines, bike lanes, landing strips and whatever other transport options....

Re: MoMo

Their Facebook Page has 392 Likes - that's not *that* bad for a small, brand new restaurant. They also have free WiFi, so you can crunch (numbers) while you brunch (cucumbers). :)

Kaldi's Coffee Bar in Silver Spring has wifi (thanks for the report darkstar965!)

Rose's Luxury had a wifi signal called guest, but I didn't ask if they are giving out the password.  Anyone know?  If not, I'll ask them sometime.

I'll update the master wifi list in the near future so let me know if anyone has more updates!
