I know nothing about the author nor even know who "Tim" is. (Carmen?) I just have a great deal of respect for the talent that wrote a wonderful essay.

Joe, Carrie Allen is married to Tim Carman. She works as the editor of the Humane Society magazine. And she is a poet and published short story writer. (Check out her blog, http://ecstaticdoggerel.blogspot.com/) She is also a talented visual artist who paints and makes jewelry. And she's gorgeous. And hysterically funny.

Humane Society? Carol and I have cats who sleep on either side of us in bed... There's a Takoma park connection, too. I grew up there near Piney and Flower; Blair, but never mind what year...

Thanks, Zora.

Off topic: I listen to K Earth 101 on my I phone when I walk... Even have a Robert W. Morgan LP from when he was on KHJ, http://www.reelradio.com/rj/cruisin/cruisin65.html Santa Monica? Takoma Park?

Speaking of growing up.
