Coffee or Tea in Frederick, MD

I am looking for a venue where a small group can hang out for an hour over a cup of something, for a business meeting, in the late afternoon.  I know about Frederick Coffee Co, which has been full every time I've been.  Any other ideas?

This is going to be a toughie - we have some Frederick members, but only a few. (I'm saying this primarily to bump this up.)

Thanks for the ideas - next time I'm in Frederick I'll have a look, but these came in too late.  Traffic issues scuttled the pre-meeting meeting, and I was left alone for an hour, so I just wandered around until I found North Market Pop Shop, which besides having a great selection of soda pop, has ice cream from Trickling Springs.  Including black raspberry.  And they make milkshakes*.  I couldn't resist, which ended up fine because the meeting was at Brewer's Alley, and the one appetizer I ordered was bad.  There are worse things than having a milkshake for dinner.

*darkstar, I was thinking of you.  The good news is that the clerk (soda jerk?) really took his time making the shake.  The bad news is that it was still too thick to drink through a straw, at least for awhile, and iirc you like your shakes on the thin side.  But if you're ever in that area, check it out.

I did eventually make it back to Dublin, and found the coffee beans over-roasted.  The cappuccino I ordered wasn't very well-made, either.  I don't recall the details, but I haven't bothered to go back.

If anyone does actually like Dublin's coffee, you can find the beans at the Bethesda Co-Op at MacArthur Blvd and Seven Locks Rd in Cabin John.

Minus a point for me here. Since I offered the blind suggestion upthread 17 months ago, I too made it to Dublin...twice actually. But neglected to post about it.

Dublin's owner, an ex-military woman if I recall correctly, is a great story. And, I think Dublin has a good following locally. Both times I was there, the usually solo staffer in the large place couldn't have been nicer.

And, a last qualifier that must always be paramount whether restaurant or coffee shop: Different people like different things and, whatever an individual or even majority view, we all should patronize places we like with no feelings of guilt or apology needed.

That all said, this website is all about sharing quality opinions.

I fully agree, Porcupine. Espresso drink technique is off as seemed the roasting.

This sets up a view on the integrated roaster/retailer phenomenon I'll put into a new topic.
