DonRocks
BarredInDC.com has announced that Japonè (2032 P St.), Cafe Japonè, and its lounge, Sango Sho, have closed - the two-story operation has been open since 1986 - (congratulations, by the way, on a 27-year run). Of the three Japanese restaurants on the south side of P Street in West Dupont, only the more traditional Sakana (2026 P St.) remains, as Uni (2122 P St.) also closed within the past year. I used to DJ in the lounge (Sango Sho) in ancient times. That place was a trip. I will always remember it and Kenji (the owner) was cool (to me).

DaveO
We had a good number of grads hired there over the years. Haven't seen their name much recently in that regard. We'll take their name off our contact list. We also had a lot of grads that liked that place.
DonRocks
It's fairly uncommon when an empty restaurant space is replaced by something completely different, but Japonè and Cafe Japonè were replaced by what is now Dupont Circle Yoga - if you go to their webpage, you can see it's a very handsome interior for a yoga studio.
