Don Lencho on Mathis Avenue in Manassas - Salvadoran-Mexican From The Owners of Guajillo and Casa Oaxaca - Closed

Recommended Posts

The owners of Guajillo and Casa Oaxaca are now in Manassas on Mathis Avenue.  Wife and her sister went for lunch last week and were the only customers the whole time they were there.  My wife and I were there for lunch Friday and there were three other parties the whole time we were there.

I haven't been to Guajillo or Casa Oaxaca, so I can't speak to how it compares to them. I enjoyed my chorizo quesadilla and my wife's five tacos plate (steak, pork, chicken, fish, and lamb).  Thin crispy chips and warm salsa were good.

Oh great, now I have to go to Manassas to try this place out....

If you are ever in the market for a used car, used tires, psychic reading, or a tattoo, there's no better place to be. And we might be on our way to saying the same thing for Mexican food (yes, I'm using "Mexican" to include Salvadorian, Peruvian, and others).

First visit here. The service is just slow enough to notice. I got the three taco plate. Tacos were braised lamb, steak, and carnitas. The lamb and steak were both delicious. The carnitas were dry. Couldn't finish that one.

My mom got the shredded beef enchiladas. She was pleased. I tried a bit of her enchilada meat on the remainder of my tortilla, it was indeed excellent and I immediately wished I had got that instead of the carnitas.

Complementary chips and salsa were excellent as well. They both reminded me of Uncle Julio's.
