Bernie Williams (1968-), NY Yankees Center Fielder (1991-2006), and a Five-Time All-Star

As an aside, I was a bit surprised how quickly Bernie Williams was dismissed from the Hall.

Bernie seems to get bundled into the Paul O'Neil, Tino Martinez, Scott Brocious side of the equation more than the Andy, Mo, Jorge, and Jeter - unfairly at times.  I'm not sure why as I always viewed him as being a superior every day player to the former group.

I don't know when this all turned around, but back when the Yankees were winning all their World Series (thanks, Jeffrey Maier ), I remember Bernie Williams as being considered the best position player on the team. I might be wrong, but that's how I remember it.
