sheldman
Newish, but I am not sure just how new - Bul, a Korean place in Adams Morgan apparently owned by the same folks as Sakuramen - and, according to its website (here) it is intended to evoke street food (calling itself DC's first pojangmacha) Based on a first experience tonight, it was really nice - small, exposed brick pleasant place with very friendly staff. Good kimchi, made by chef's mom. Beer and sochu. Try the steamer egg stew and the odeng soup. Reasonably priced. Totally worth a try.
turbogrrl
It opened right after the new year. beer, sochu, and also sake, for those that were lamenting the lack of liquor license at sakuramen. They also take reservations. I've been once and sat at the bar, and had a perfectly pleasant experience. The short ribs were very tasty, as was the fried rice. saf
Had dinner here last Friday. Sadly, there were not 4 bar seats, but there was a table for 4. So, popcorn chicken and corn cheese for apps. Various Korean beers and soju to drink. I had chicken wings. The boy had the spicy seafood bibimbap. Nothing is too spicy for him. This was! But he still liked it. There was also a spicy squid rice and a spicy chicken bibimbap. Neither of those were too spicy. Service was good, and friendly. We will be back!
