Al Dente
Hi All-- I'd like to take my SO out for a special birthday dinner in a couple of weeks. Looking for suggestions. She's a vegetarian so we need options for her. I'm a carnivore so I hope to be happy too. Looking for something in the $150 range all in. Close to Fairfax would be swell, but I'm happy to take a spin into DC as well. Nothing dressy. On the quiet side. Decent wine list for her, but I don't drink. ktmoomau
What about Kapnos Taverna? I think they might have pretty good vegetarian options.

I see two restaurants that meet your criteria: Clarity, and the Brasserie at L'Auberge Chez Francois (I would at least wear khakis at the latter). DonRocks
Villa Mozart in Fairfax City I haven't looked at the menu, but my thought was this wouldn't be good for vegetarians.
weezy
I took a look and the main course offerings aren't great, but several apps and pasta courses are available.
Lary
We have taken a couple different veg friends to gypsy soul and they've been pleased with the couple non-animaly items, and my wife often opts for the pasta dishes at 2941. they have a nice veg one with morels right now. both places you can wear jeans but i definitely still get a "that guy" kinda vibe from suited patrons and certain staff at 2941 due to my aversion to wearing nice things. I think patawmack farm can /does do a veggie tasting menu, i was not the only one scrubbing it there even though the website said dressy. It's a very pretty setting for a special occasion.
