Cricket - That "Other" Game That's Kind Of Like Baseball, but Not Really - Dating Back Over 500 Years

I know less about cricket than I know about soccer or hockey (or carom billiards), but it doesn't mean I can't try.

Apr 2, 2008 - "Cricket 101: A Primer" by Emily Flitter on wsj.com

bails - 2 small sticks placed atop the 3 stumps, part of the wicket
ball - that thing you see being bowled and batted
batsman - the person trying to hit the ball, and defend the wicket
bowling - propelling the ball towards the wicket
cricket field - the entire field of play
pitch - the 22-yard-long central rectangular strip of the cricket field
runs - units of scoring, each obtained by running the 22-yard pitch
stumps - 3 vertical posts that support the 2 bails, part of the wicket
tribbing - a picture speaks 1,000 words, see photo below
wicket - a set of 3 stumps and 2 bails, at either end of the pitch

I'm stumped - this is a sticky wicket. I'll keep filling this list in, bit-by-bit - it's amazing how much learning *just these terms* has helped me.
