"I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical."

-- Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, Jan 30, 1787

[I emphasize, once again, that donrockwell.com is an apolitical community, with all people and viewpoints welcome. An important distinction: "apolitical" is not the same as "anti-political" - the prefix "a" means "disinterested"; the prefix "anti" means "against." We - as a community - are apolitical: disinterested in politics except via intellectual and historical perspectives - we always have been, and we always will be. This is entirely different than saying "we don't care" - it merely means that all people are welcome, regardless of political viewpoints, and is entirely consistent with our position since day one of our existence. Here, we come together - originally through a shared, mutual interest in food and wine; now through those same interests, along with the enjoyment and love of life, and a shared compassion for those in need. Good luck to both candidates in today's election, and may peace, happiness, and a concern for humanity be the victors when tomorrow comes to pass.
