Having visited there twice, I can testify. The story is about the intersection of government and the restaurant industry. While this bylaw only effects one street, it's a significant street in Montreal. DaveO Posted December 31, 2016 Share Posted December 31, 2016 Interesting. The phenomena is not unique to Montreal. It occurs in this region. In North Arlington existing restaurants complain abt. Zoning rules that encourage retail/restaurants. Nick Freshman in this forum has pointed out that Claendon suffers from restaurant saturation as one of the reasons for so many Claendon restaurant closures this year.
