Why hadn't I seen "No Country for Old Men" before ?!

As entertainment, this was pretty darned intense, and very, very well-done. 

As art, I need to think about it some more, but I think there's a lot to extract from this film.

I don't like the sudden, undramatic loss of the anti-protagonist, but there must be a reason for this.

The First time I watched No Country the movie ended and I said Holy Shit and pressed play and watched again.

My son tricked me into watching this & after the first dog was killed,I started screaming at him.  He promised there wasn't anything else like this, but there was (I've watched enough horror movies to tune things out, but cruelty to animals finishes it for me). Now he wants me to watch 'Veep', should I be scared?  Just joking, I probably let him be exposed to much worse things, & I love Julia Louis Dreyfus.

I saw this again last night, and the "sudden, undramatic loss of the anti-protagonist" fits right in with the overall theme, mood, and point of the film - Tommy Lee Jones' lament at the end about his two dreams wraps this up very nicely, and Jones is really the glue that binds this incredible film together with its title.

The title, by the way, comes from the Yeats poem, "Sailing to Byzantium."
