DonRocks Posted May 27, 2017 Share Posted May 27, 2017 Season 2, Episode 2 of "Breaking Bad" ("Grilled") shows a false animal: This ghastly looking creature is a Hickory-Horned Devil, a caterpillar which I first saw on the Appalachian Trail not far from the Ashby Inn in Paris, VA. They have not migrated to the U.S. Southwest that I know of, i.e., Arizona or New Mexico. The Hickory-Horned Devil looks fierce, but is innocuous, and turns into a rather attractive moth. DonRocks Posted October 30, 2023 Author Share Posted October 30, 2023 I just saw the largest flying beetle-like thing I’ve ever seen. I thought I heard a model airplane in the distance; I looked up and this insect was flying by about twenty feet overhead. in case anyone cares, the noise it made was approximately 82 mh. :-) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
