Tasting Table at Maple Ave

Hello friends,
Hope you enjoyed the holiday! We sure did by bringing in some delicious soft shell crabs and sparkling sangria back on the menu. We also took some time during this holiday week to plan out the next tasting table dinner series. The series will begin July 19th at 730pm. Tasting dinners will be held about every other week. Each tasting dinner will feature a different menu highlighting a local farm.
Tasting Table 7.19.12 $59pp
Maple Ave will offer six guests a sneak peek of Chef Tim Ma's new menu items, followed by a full four-course menu including dishes that feature organic tomatoes, a tartare appetizer, rabbit for the entree and blueberry pie for dessert. Complimentary wine pairings will also be included. The full menu will be sent directly to guests after tickets have been purchased.

Come enjoy this fun, informal Spanish-style dining at Apartment 2g, this Thursday, July 19.
What are Tapas?
"Tapas" is the collective name for small plates: mini-entrées that are a delicious mouthful of something savory and flavorful. The word "tapa" is Spanish for lid, specifically the "lid" created by the slice of bread an innkeeper would thoughtfully place on the top of guest's wine glass to keep bugs and dust out. Over time this developed into balancing some interesting little food bit atop the bread, and today the institution of small plates to go with some wine in the evening exists throughout the Mediterranean.
How does Tapas Night work?
The Tapas Night menu at Apartment 2g is a list of small plates, many in a very traditional Spanish style, and (in keeping with the eclectic nature of our menus) often a few plates that take on a New-World flair.

In keeping with Spanish tradition, Tapas are intended to be shared with everyone at the table. For example, a couple dining together might share four or five plates. Also, Tapas dining is a much more fluid style of meal, meaning rather than distinct courses like guests experience with our Saturday Prix Fixe menus, tapas diners enjoy each vibrant plate as the Chefs prepare them, fresh from the kitchen.
As always, we keep our commitment to having a dynamic and interesting wine list, and select particularly appropriate offerings for Tapas, either by the glass or bottle, to future the Tapas dining experience.
Reservations?
Reservations are available from 6:30pm to 8:30pm each Tapas Night. We only serve tapas once per month, so reservations are strongly recommended, as the evening tends to be particularly popular.
