Pat
At the Kielbasa Factory, a Polish grocery store in Rockville, where you can also get Jamie Stachowski's charcuterie!I've been planning another trip out to that store. This makes it even more worthwhile. Thanks for the information. Maybe it should be crossposted to the Kielbasa Factory thread.

AStern
I had to look that up. A jelly doughnut-type pastry pronounced... um... I have no idea how to pronounce paczki. Think somewhere between "punch-key" and "poonch-key".
collije
Think somewhere between "punch-key" and "poonch-key". In Philly my Polish friends called it "poanch-key". Eh, whatever they're yummy!
PollyG
Seen Jan 16 2009 at the Giant in Reston's North Point shopping center. There were only a few boxes, all raspberry fillings, IIRC.
eatWashington
At the Kielbasa Factory, a Polish grocery store in Rockville, where you can also get Jamie Stachowski's charcuterie! It's great news to learn there's a place to get Jamie Stachowski's brilliant charcuterie! When he owned Restaurant K, he was one of the best chef interviews I ever did! I didn't have to open my mouth the whole hour! The anecdotes just poured out of him. Glad that he and Krystyna Ahrens of the KF have linked. (Slap me if I shouldn't direct you here, but she's a pretty interesting person too - http://www.eatwashington.com/article/the_kielbasa_factory Julia

PollyG
Paczki spotted today at the Northpoint Reston Giant, right in the front of the store as you come in. They looked a LOT like jelly donuts.
