I've been to the one on Ocean Park Blvd. in Santa Monica. Gorgeous stuff but VERY expensive. It's more like an art gallery than a kitchen store.

Japanese knifemaker "Mac" claims their serrated bread knife is ambidextrous and resharpenable on conventional stones. Color this southpaw intrigued.

We actually caved and bought a crock pot recently. We've tested out stone cut oats made overnight so far. Next up is a lentil recipe with butternut squash. So far so good, and so easy!

Is that the one with reverse serrations, aka 'scallops'? I've heard they stay sharper a lot longer than standard serrations.

There was some show that was on ABC called American Inventor where a guy had actually built something like this. He puts a thick steak in and if I recall correctly, something like 2 or 3 hours and a minor bit of electrocution later, it was cooked rare or medium rare.

I saw Michael scarfing down an entire watermelon the other day, perhaps part of his new Ray's The Dead project.

You know, CNN is now selling t-shirts of their video headlines.

I would say this is a great idea in concept and goal to be a "must have", but um, not so great in the design department, if you're thinking along the same lines that I am... unsure.gif

Heh. The stick is new, but we had them beaten on the Octodog and the egg-and-muffin toaster by at least a year. laugh.gif
