I'm looking for really good caramel apples to buy as a gift. (Making them myself isn't an option )
Does anyone know where I can find them, preferably in DC or the close suburbs?

Dean & Deluca had candy apples last week. I wouldn't be surprised if they also carried caramel (I was only in the little outdoor portion of the G'town store).

I had a lovely one at Homestead Farms in Poolesville a few weeks ago but their presentation, the apple rests on a soda lid, probably isn't great for gift giving.

I have seen them at Whole Foods in years past, but I'd try Dean & Deluca or Balducci's first.
