The first ripe Brandywine tomato from the back yard, with a sprinkling of salt. Oh my.
Yentruoc
well, not right now, but about 2 hours ago, a tomato, basil and mozzarella sandwich on a baguette that took most of the weekend to bake and covered my kitchen in flour. But it's good, dammit!! tongue.gif

oh- and the annoying details: tomato and basil from the CSA. Bread: from Rose Levy Berenbaum's The Bread Bible.
starfish
cafe americano, and one of the biscotti that we give away to people who walk by and read our menu board. breakfast of champions.
MelGold
nothing...absolutely nothing. My appetite went on vacation yesterday afternoon and has yet to return. blink.gif
mdt
Just returned from Taqueria Poblano where I had one fish and one chorizo & potato taco.
Gastro888
Chipotle burrito bowl with steak. Rice, black beans, extra fajita veggies, steak, extra mild tomato salsa and lettuce. Topped it off with Tabasco Jalpeno sauce and lime juice.

SoHo is the closest place to my office so I eat there all too often. They do make a decent red beans and rice though, so I'm chowing down on that along with a soggy eggroll.

SoHo, the buffet chain with the red and black sign? It's a big deal to admit that! Kudos.

That's the one. I work in Silver Spring, so options are limited, WAY limited. At least within easy walking distance on a HOT freakin day.

I am enjoying a tasty iced latte from Caribou, and playing with my new digital camera. This is what the guy at the camera test lab was apparently eating:

(There! Offsite hosting!)

Delivery from Spices. I had a bad day. sad.gif

Aged tangerine peel beef, fried dumplings, burp.
alan7147
Leftovers from last nights pickup from Joe's Noodle House. My damn mouth is on fire right now
hillvalley
Brownie topped with blueberries, raspberries and whipped cream
mktye
French-style (Gerbet, to be specific) Macaroons. Vanilla and non-traditional Maple, both types filled with matching-flavored buttercream.
Heather
Some of the homemade beef jerky my husband made for his camping trip. Very peppery.
hillvalley
I started off with by finishing my goat cheese stuffed squashblossoms but I have moved on to just eating the cheese straight from the piping bag smile.gif
MelGold
Swedish fish - the red kind.

Must.Not.Eat.Entire.Bag.

Lemon Sorbet (delish!)
Our building was just sold, and the new mgt company is providing an "ice cream social" smile.gif
Basilgirl
Stale Bugles. OK, OK. My stomach was rumbling because I could not bring myself to eat the egg roll I got today at the building's cafeteria. Blech. It's Chinese Day! Not. I didn't want to go near the "General Tso's Chicken" or the "Fried Rice." I've eaten plenty of bad egg rolls in my life, but this was the worst. Even worse than those little baby frozen ones you can get at Giant.
jm chen
Ritter Sport bar, marzipan covered in dark chocolate.

The key to bliss is to eat the chocolate first, then the marzipan. Mmmm.

Jael
laniloa
chocolate chocolate chip cookies leftover from a work potluck lunch
brooke
This is my first time here smile.gif Nice to meet everyone!

Right now I'm 'tasting' my latest experiment: saffron & pistachio cookies. I'm working on a low-(sat.)fat recipe that use no butter and yolk smile.gif It came out pretty nice.. though not all the spices came through (saffron was too powerful, perhaps?).
JPW
Hi brooke. And welcome.
Saffron can indeed be overwhelming.
If you gave your working recipe, I am sure that some of the bakers on the site (aka not me) could help you out).
Olivia255
protein shake and detox tea. i was mean to my liver yesterday unsure.gif
JLK
Guacamole, spicy guacamole. It's my second time making the stuff at home and this time I used fresh jalepeno pepper. [Last time, I made "mild" guacamole, with only a few drops of hot sauce.]

That's powerful stuff! I minced two slices of the pepper, probably 1/4" thick each, to go with two avocados. Personally, I love the spice, but if I make guac for guests, I think I'll have to tone it down slightly.
Monica Bhide
Cold grapes.
Gastro888
Reduced fat breakfast sandwich from Starbucks and a grande Columbian coffee of the day with 4 sugar in the raw and a good dollop of whole milk.

Surprisingly, the sanwich is quite tasty! I am pleasantly surprised.
mktye
Yeast-raised, maple-glazed, homemade doughnuts.

Yeah, rub it in! I'll just go back to eating my Dunkin Donuts Boston-creme-filled chemical foam, thank you. Was going to make buttermilk pancakes, but I ended up having to help a friend move. Pancakes for dinner now. ph34r.gif
mdt
Left over Ma Po Bean Curd from TemptAsian with some fresh rice.
JimRice
Bratwursts from German Gourmet on Lee Highway and a salad. Mmmm...bratwurst. Oh, and a bottle of Belhaven Wee Heavy Scottish ale.
Biotech
Ollie burger with cheese and medium ollie fries

they have a new promo running...after 5 burgers you get a free angioplasty

Just this minute, I bit into, and chewed, a previously undetected jalapeno pepper on a shredded pork sandwich from Banh Mi DC Sandwich in Falls Church.

Clicking on "Add Reply," and then heading straight for the Deer Park water cooler,
Rocks.

So true -- dairy is the best antidote to that kind of pain.
Gastro888
Powdered Green Tea and adzuki bean cookies from Hinata in Bethesda, MD. They're almost like a matcha tulie. Yuuuum.
mdt
Jasmine tea smoked duck breast with a strawberry balsamic sauce and a roasted beet salad.
jm chen
Leftover cracker-crusted pork and green beans with bacon. The pork didn't reheat well but the (formerly) green beans are delish.

A 'Berry-Lime Sublime' Jamba Juice, and the rage of dozens of law students as I wave back from them from behind the glass of a computer lab closed for maintenance. Man, something profoundly bad happened to this lab, and I"m not sure what.
Gastro888
Barbara's Bakery's Snackimals Whear-Free Oatmeal animal cookies with a tall iced coffee w/ milk and sugar from Starbucks.

Yum. Trying to be good and trying to resist the call of the potato chips in the vending machine!
bookluvingbabe
First pear of the season from Reid's.

I discovered pears just in the last few years and it's been a real love affair. This was a regular Bartlett--hoping for the red Bartlett's soon.

I love this time of year--still getting tomatoes and necatarines but the apples and pears are starting to appear.

Yum!

Lightly snacking... rolleyes.gif I've had an apple and a pear plus the last of some very nice expensive dark chocolate. Will probably eat a necatarine later....
Barbara
Having just missed out on the Eve dinner, thanks to our server deciding a nap was in order at just the wrong moment, I am eating a gin and tonic.
Meredith
Blackberries and peaches from Larriland Farms for a pre-dinner snack.
Heather
Just fixed the kids some bean burritos and I'm having a large Mt. Gay and Coke.
Meaghan
I'm drinking.
I have to report, though:
I'm drinking Victory Golden Monkey in a 9.4 million dollar house, on the clock.

I'm eating peanuts. That big Virginian kind in the can from Marvelous Market.
