Cheese curds from Clear Spring Creamery... not like the ones in Wisconsin but still really good cheese... doesn't have the squeak that defines a cheese curd and is sliced more like cheese.

Still tasty.... :-)

Parmesan flatbread, made yesterday. Very good.

Haagen-Dazs "Maple Cookie" ice cream. Nice strong maple flavor; goes great with a bottle of green tea.

I picked up a bag of raw peanuts a few months ago in S.C. on my way back to D.C. Was craving boiled peanuts this morning so I threw a pot on the stove with water and (too much) salt, added the peanuts and boiled away for hours. At some point I will make some using star anise and the other spices Joe's uses but for now I am content with good ol' fashioned boiled peanuts.

The most decadent, amazing, homemade apple pie made from apples I picked on Friday.

One of my favorite "morning after" meals - reduced sodium ramen noodles with a tin of turkey, plus additional sriracha, spicy szechuan sauce, garlic powder, red pepper, and Chinese five spice. Hot enough to make my eyes water and sweat out some of the alcohol and nicotine from last night. biggrin.gif

No chermoula on hand so I improvised with dried coriander, cumin, cinnamon, bay leaf, fresh garlic, onion, lemon zest, S&P, whole dried chili and some fresh marjoram towards the end. Not bad, but olives really would have made it!
Heather
Stephanie's homemade pistachio brittle - what was left after the picnic made its way into my car. It's delicious!

Homemade Pea Soup...using Jake's Ham bone from the Spring Picnic for the stock.....so good

the Popeye's on East Colfax in Denver has a "Tuesday Special" of a thigh and a leg for 99 cents.

So if one were an occasional glutton, one might be working one's way through 2 thighs and 2 legs, spicy, for a whopping $2.13, tax included, right this minute.

I can't make it myself for that price.

Is this a national promo? i.e., do you have it in Washington? If so I highly recommend that you, in the words of Smokey, "Take advantage, man; take advantage."
Xochitl10
Toasted ham and cheese sandwiches with a side of sliced dragonfruit (pitaya)

Sweetzels spiced wafers. These are the best ginger snaps ever. I grew up eating these every fall in suburban Philadelphia and hadn't had one in quite a while. I found a box recently and bought them (at a Giant, I think). These are the best.

My favorite cheap lunch: a couple of tuna-mayo onigiri (rice balls) and a bowl of miso soup.
