  1. Had my birthday dinner at J&G last Saturday. A beautiful dining room. An almost flawless evening except for the red velvet bench that I sat on. (Too low and too wide but a pillow helped and the restaurant provided two glasses of champagne for my husband and me.) Impeccable service all around. The fried calamari was incredibly tender and lightly tempura-ed. I will hesitate before I order that dish in other places now. No comparison. The asparagus risotto was not overly rich but very flavorful with reasonably sized pieces of asparagus. Veal chop was like butter. Lamb chops succulent. Molten chocolate was good - not the best we've eaten but still totally acceptable. We didn't have a bottle of wine but they had quartinos which were just the perfect size given that we had a drink and the champagne. Highly recommended!
  2. Last Saturday I ate at Nava Thai (haven't been there since they moved). I also order a crispy pork dish. Maybe I'm out of it, but I was expecting some actual pork! It was crispy but it was almost all fat! Is that the way it is supposed to be? The tilapia dish (with ginger) was great. Next time I'll try it with chili garlic and basil.
  3. I noticed the name - Chuck Rossler - as the owner. That name sounds familiar. Does anyone know what restaurant he used to own. Thanks.
  4. Although I live nearby, I've never tried Redwood because every review/comment about it was negative. I thought I heard that there is a new chef. Should I attempt it now? Maybe just for appetizers and drinks at the bar? Thanks.
  5. I work across the street from Lighthouse and haven't tried it. I'm not too adventurous. I don't mind spicy. Probably prefer veggies unless the meats are lean. Please advise. Thanks.
  6. I'm game...I live in Bethesda and try to give every restaurant a fair shot! I will be taking two friends out to dinner on June 22. I'll make a reservation and look forward to eating at Visions!
  7. I am intrigued by the dish called Buffalo Frogs Legs??? What are they? Meat or fish? Thanks.
