What an incredible dinner at 2941 Restaurant on Sunday evening to celebrate the life of Patrick Deiss, my son. The appetizers and the tasting menu were so "over the top." The wine pairings were so wonderful. My husband want's to go back to work so we can afford some of the awesome bottles we were served. Thanks to all the chefs who contributed; thanks to all the people "behind the scenes" who were sponsors: D'Artagnan, Daniel Bouloud, purveyors in the food and wine industry in DC, produce people, meat people, everyone who Pat came in contact with in his life as a chef. It was a wonderful celebration of his life, and the silent auction, alone, raised over $5000 for his daugher's education. I am one proud Momma, and one grateful member of the beautiful DC dining scene. Thank's so much to Don Rockwell and Tom Sietsema for advertising this dinner.
