Marty L.
Tim Carmen's Top 14. To his great credit, he stresses that the list might look very different from day-to-day. Best I've had lately is at Etto. Anyone been to No. 1 Inferno in Darnestown? (How I wish Edan McQ. were still around these parts so that he could opine/remark on all of this.)
MC Horoscope
Yes, Inferno is great! We go about once a month. Love his tomato sauce and crust! We also like Pizza CS in Rockville. Has more options for toppings, like gorgonzola! We haven't been to most of the places on his list, but if he says pizza in the area is on the upswing I take his word for it. Would love to try Il Canale and Pupatella!
DanielK
Inferno is great, but it gets packed at peak times, and they do occasionally run out of dough. We usually go to Pizza CS or CSNY.
jondagle
Ya know, I’m just so happy there are so many good and even “fair” pizza places in the area. Time was the only options were Paradiso (one location) and 2 Amys. I think I’ll try Il Canale tonight. I can’t believe there’s not already a thread.
lion
I like Menomale but it has been a well since our last trip. Never been to Darnestown, will keep it in mind if up in Gaithersburg.

jondagle
Thank you, dwt. The pizza was pretty good. I won’t say amazing, but good. Happy hour at the bar is half price beer, wine and cocktails. There are some good beers and nice wines. A salad and caprese were marginal — terrible for the price. Oddly the mozzarella was both declicous and copious, but the tomatoes were neither very ripe or flavorful. Staff was friendly and attentive. Apparently the mobile search for DR doesn’t work. I tried several times and got no results. 🧐
