Assuming no catastrophic, global meltdowns, it doesn't seem unreasonable to expect a billion-dollar artwork to be sold at auction sometime before 2050 (*)

If you're worth $50 billion, you can buy real estate, you can buy extremely expensive art, you can buy sports franchises, and ... the list is already starting to dwindle.

Can you imagine insuring such a thing?
