dcs
Today, February 13, 2018, is seventh edition of World Radio Day, as proclaimed by UNESCO’s General Conference. I do not know about you, but growing up the radio was my lifeline to the world outside my hometown. It was always on and what I heard mattered. I dare say that the radio shaped a lot of who I am today. Radio is not the same to a great extent with many stations strictly formatted these days. But there are still more than a few that remain true to the promise of what radio can be (I'm looking at you WFMU). Listen to a half hour of NPR's Morning Edition and a half hour of the Today Show and tell me which one is more impactful. If I had to choose between my television and my radio, I would take the radio everyday.
