Although this festival comprises dance, film, video games, most of the performances appear to music based, so I'll leave it here for now.  Some events are ticketed, but looks like about half are free and performed at the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage.  A handful of events are at other venues, like the 9:30 Club.

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts’ new two-week celebration of contemporary culture.
