DonRocks
"How Proton Therapy Attacks Cancer" by Bonnie Berkowitz and Aaron Steckelberg on washingtonpost.com The takeaway here is that this new-ish Proton Therapy is better at selectively targeting cancerous areas than traditional Photon Therapy, and is an advancement in post-diagnostic treatment. My guess is that it won't "cure" many people, but it's another weapon in the arsenal to slow the monster down. (The reason I sound skeptical is because, from experience, I've found that once something technical makes the mainstream news, it's no longer "news" per se (in this case, it was theorized in 1946) - this applies to many fields.) Still, this will help to educate people, and an educated patient sometimes turns out to be a living patient. Simul?
