On a whim, what are you up to?

Just a short note to report on the HH at FF last Friday. I would say that about 10 of us showed up. A whole bunch of Kimpton Hotels schlubs were hogging the bar area so we took over the sofa section in the lounge. Thanks to Porcupine who got there early and comandeered the sofa. Great to see Liz back at work. Visit the FF thread for more. After we split up, several of us went to Bombay Curry Company in Del Ray for dinner and a group went off to Ray's the Steaks. Thanks to Michael Landrum for fitting them in.

A few of us are going to go to Bistro Lepic's Wine Bar for happy hour today if anyone is interested in going. They have good deals with 20% off all bottles of wine and a free wine tasting from 6 PM to 8 PM.

The wine bar is upstairs if I am not mistaken. I could stop by for a glass of wine, parking permitting.

Is it? Izzzzzit?

If not, what about Bourbon? I might be able to make it out tonight if the crazy-freak proposal manager dude doesn't keep us all around to hear him fulminate. Day jobs, pah!

it is that time of the month already. legacy libations shall begin to flow at 5pm. hope to see you all there.

I'm on the fence. I may be heading up to Juste Lounge in Bethesda to shake my groove thang, which would be consistent with the diet I'm on for the first time in my life (my clothes don't fit!!!!) because you people, you dr.com people, are so damn fun to hang out with (and eat with and drink with). How's that for a long sentence ending with a preposition!

Sorry, kids. I feel like wasting 104 minutes of my life with a tub of buttered popcorn, a drink and X-Men 3...hopefully it isn't as bad as the critics are all saying! Have a fun & safe Memorial Day weekend, one & all!

Beat ya to it - caught a 4p matinee in Germantown, which was near sold out.

Non-spoiler warning - stay through the end credits...

I thought it was a fun movie...and we did stay through the credits! Buttered popcorn & sour skittles were our appetizers before heading to a full dinner at Rustico after the show. Those sour skittles are awesome!!!!

The first BP recon happy hour is tonight, from 5:30 or whenever I-66 and my day job lets me get there, until we get over our laziness to realize we've started to order full-price beers and decamp.

I'm out for tonight - hitting my favorite steakhouse instead. :) But I may be in tomorrow if there's a gathering.

There’s a big cardboard box sitting in my foyer with 39 38 quite spiffy picnic t-shirts with your donrockwell’s name on them. I would love to be able to distribute them on Friday at Happy Hour before the picnic. You all figure out when and where, and I’ll be there.

And did you know that we can enter a group photograph of us wearing our spiffy t-shirts into a contest by the company that made them, for a chance to win a $100 prize? That would buy a lot of party hats (or maybe a pair of decent chaps for Al Dente, or some actual artwork for the walls at Rays the Steaks, or some new disguises for Rocks, or ???)

BTW, I am under the impression that somebody on this board had to shell out some $$$ to reserve the space. If true, will we need to throw some $ into the kitty?
Absolutely, thanks for the reminder. We will have a donation jar at the picnic to help defray the $135 reservation fee.

Nah, don't bother. Just leave your server an extra dollar next time you're out at a restaurant. It all works out in the end. Cheers, Rocks.
