wahoooob
Going to check out Proof this weekend for the b-day, but could only get in at 5:30. So I figure, after enjoying a meal and some wine at Proof, we'd walk around a bit and then get some dessert. Any suggestions in the area? So far I've come up with: PS7 IndeBleu Central Cafe Atlantico (just there a few weeks ago) We are definitely into the more "fun and adventurous" dessert category, however I wouldn't say no to an outstanding and well executed straightforward dish either. Thanks for the advice!
Apples & Bananas
The Greek yogurt and Apricots and the Red Fruit Salad at Zaytinya are both very good, very light and refreshing options for dessert.
mhberk
IndeBleu is a good bet. We often have dinner somewhere in Penn Quarter and then have dessert at IndeBleu. But the single BEST dessert in ALL of Penn Quarter has to be the Turkish Coffee Chocolate at Zaytinya!
porcupine
I don't think you can beat Zaytinya for fun and adventurous desserts, unless you go to Cafe Atlantico. Or Jaleo. Or Oyamel. Hmmm... ...but anyway, The Caucus Room used to have an absolutely wonderful coconut cake a few years back. (I only ate there once, but got that cake as carryout several times after.) Beto
At Cafe Atlantico, I had the "Bizcocho templado de chocolate con banana." Part of the dessert was a chocolate flan that appeared to be ordinary chocolate pudding... except it had the most intense chocolate flavor I've ever experienced. If chocolate's your thing, you won't be disappointed.

silentbob
Bump. Same question, except in Georgetown. In lieu of a full dinner, I want to do a "dessert crawl" with some friends -- starting with Dolcezza for gelato, followed by Thomas Sweet for ice cream, Georgetown Cupcake for, well, you know, and Sweetgreen for faux-Pinkberry. Any other destinations along the way that would be worth adding to the route? And then what's a low key bar/lounge nearby to chill for drinks after we're hopped up on sugar? You can always finish up in the lounge at Citronelle with drinks and a "Kit Kat" bar.
cheezepowder
Bump. Same question, except in Georgetown... I don't know how late it's open in the evening, but if it's still open, you could stop for a few chocolates at Leonidas at 1531 Wisconsin Ave. Another possibility is sweet crepes at Cafe Bonaparte also on Wisconsin. A couple of months ago, I noticed another chocolate place on M street near Aditi and not too far from Georgetown Cupcake. Has anyone tried that place or remember the name? Or how about Cafe du Parc at the Willard.
sandynva
central's within easy walking distance. I reccomend the banana split and the kitkat bar (if they have it on the menu. a couple of weeks ago they had "Michel's chocolate bar" which i didn't like as much)
