StorageLady
Couldn't find dried porcini mushrooms or nicoise olives today in Frederick. Where's the best store to find these? I'm heading down to the Legg Mason Tennis Tournament in DC tomorrow - so will be able to stop in Rockville or G'burg or G'town along the way.... goodeats
I don't know about dried porcini mushrooms, but I would think the PQ market mushroom people would have them handy. Maybe Maxim or Kam Sam in Rockville? I've not tried to look for them there....
dcs
You might call Dean & DeLuca and see if they have the goods. 3276 M Street NW Washington, DC 20007 202.342.2500 Whole Foods may also turn the trick. 2323 Wisconsin Ave N.W. Malawry
You couldn't find either at The Common Market or My Organic Market? Really? You can probably find both at the Whole Foods in Gaithersburg.
porcupine
The Gaithersburg, Rockville, and Bethesda WFs carry both and have never been out when I needed them. They almost always have the nicoise at the olive bar; locating the porcini in the store is another story, though, so ask if you don't see them. DanCole42
Wegman's in Fairfax has both. The Italian Store on Lee Hwy has tons of dried porcinis.
squidsdc
Probably too late for the OP, but I think I saw dried porcini at Rodman's in White Flint Plaza recently. When I needed them for a recipe last year, I actually found them at the Giant in White Oak.
