clayrae
In other college food news, my alma mater is now offering cooking classes in the dining hall: "While gourmet foods may be in the curriculum, the real aim is to teach students the basics, starting with boiling water and making popcorn in the microwave." http://www.alfred.edu/pressreleases/viewrelease.cfm?ID=2827
V.H.
<I'm not sure exactly where to post this so Rocks, feel free to move it wherever>This was not part of MY college's meal plan. Being able to purchase alcoholic drinks using your meal card seems to be an interesting twist. I do like the idea that a more sophisticated student palate is driving these changes. I would love to see more places that are indicative of DC cuisine pop up on local campuses, maybe a Banh Mi shop and a kabob place?
shogun
Being able to purchase alcoholic drinks using your meal card seems to be an interesting twist.Unless GMU is more laid back than GW, that'll go away quick. The ability to purchase alcohol and tobacco products was the first thing to go away when the 'Colonial Cash' program started taking off and outside restaurants began accepting meal plan. The "I don't want my kids using my money to buy alcohol and tobacco" lobby is apparently pretty vocal.
