Hidden Kitchens

This series on NPR is pretty interesting.  The one this morning was about a man who made pralines while in jail.

I'm not reading carefully enough - I just posted about this in response to a mention of pralines. What a great story - I can't wait to read/hear others. The book might have to go at the top of my Christmas list.

Looks like the Kitchen Sisters will be here soon:

I clocked over 5,000 miles on the elliptical this morning.

Listened to several episodes of Hidden Kitchens, everything from prison rodeo cooking to the Armenian origins of Rice-a-Roni to the rich tradition of Lebanese cooking in the Mississippi Delta. This was a remarkably well-produced series. I have been engaged by the content but also struck by the clean and consistent sound levels (not always the case with such productions!).
