Add me to the list. Sorry I can't bring anyone from DC in that I'll be returning from Dulles where I'll be dropping off my true love who's going to Orlando to babysit her grandkids for a few days.

What's crazier--flying to Orlando to babysit or driving 30 miles r.t for a chinese dinner?

The more the merrier, Ken, but you'd better check with Jerry (703) 293-9898.  We currently have 16.

after a short conversation with Yao and an even shorter one with Jerry, the consensus is: "Sure. Always room for one or two more"...now just to see if our friends can make it.

There's a dingy little bar in the shopping center just west of SB (where Minerva is, chow-heads) called Patriots Cafe, if anyone wants to get a bit of a buzz going before (and/or after) the soiree tomorrow evening.

Alternate venues can also be proposed, of course.

Directions

eta:  I just scrolled through this and don't see that we have a time pinned down.  The only time I saw, 7:00, was only a suggestion.  If 7:00 does NOT work for you please chime in.  Otherwise, let's plan on 7:00.

7:00 is good for us...now to check with our Russian friends and see if they're good with that.

This is a tough week for me at work, so if everyone meets at 7, I may be a little late, but it's not a big deal.

Considering that many folks will have to take I-66 or other similarly dicey routes to get there (rush hour congestion etc.), 7 may be a bit optimistic, especially for those who won't be leaving their desks until somewhat after 6pm. I'm thinking 7:30 may be a more realistic target, unless traffic is smooth as silk (yeah, right).

Anyway, a few well-selected apps. can help the early birds while away the minutes. Those boiled peanuts for example.

This was clearly the most successful $20 Tuesday event yet.  Thanks to JG and PH for their coordination, planning, and ordering.

I don't really remember who started last night's stampede. Admittedly it wouldn't have been as stupendous wthout Mr. Shen's generous expertise, but he was one of the latter enlistees.

Clearly this event needs to be repeated at a time when those of us who can't get there during the week can join in.

This Sunday is a little busy, who is up for next weekend?

I think I'm good for Sunday. Nora is to be Confirmed on Saturday and I don't think I can get the Bishop to change the date even for Chinese food <_<

Okay, I am making a decision, at least for some of us ;)

Next Sunday, April 2nd at 5pm. That gives us plenty of time for a nice meal and still get home early enough because it's a school night.

Who wants to take over the rest of the organization? I'm stretched a little thin right now <_<

Do you have room for those of us who still have garlic spinach on their teeth and crave more, more Peter Tsang cooking?

April 2 at 5pm sounds a bit early for me for dinner, especially since I'm not sure the kitchen is really working at full tilt that early.  Why not 6pm?

Yes, 6 is a bit better. Does that give the school people time to get their slumber?

Let me know if there is more than one in your party!

Put me down for +1 - a friend of mine who wasn't aware of the chef shuffling, but has actually been following him from one place to the next almost by accident...

Is anyone driving from the city, or willing to do a pickup/dropoff at a metro stop?  (I think the restaurant is not metro accessible, right?)

I should be able to attend on Sunday and can pick up at a metro stop. I may be able to pick up and drop off in the city as well if need be.

I will call later this week to reserve a table (or two)

Scott, Penelope wants to come, too. So 18. We had 19 last time, and two large lazy susan tables. Talk to Jerry, the manager.
